Eddy and Faye came to Santorini with their two children to renew their wedding vows in an intimate setting. They had rented a private villa in Oia, where they could take a moment together, speak about the life they had built and make promises for the years ahead. Afterwards, we explored the village as a family, filming along the way.
A Private Villa Vow Renewal in Oia
Having the ceremony at their villa gave this part of the day a personal setting. With their children there, Eddy and Faye could focus on each other and the words they had prepared. The sea, white buildings and windmills of Oia formed the backdrop, while their voices carried the story.
There is something particularly moving about filming a vow renewal with children present. The promises speak about a relationship that has already grown into a family, and the children get to witness their parents choosing each other again. For Eddy and Faye, that connection was central to what they wanted to say.
Promises About Faith, Family and Growing Together
In his vows, Eddy thanked God for Faye, describing her as his wife, his best friend and an amazing mother to their children. He spoke about loving her with grace, patience and sacrifice, praying together and raising their family in a home shaped by their faith.
Faye reflected on the ups and downs they had experienced and the dreams they had chased together. Her promises looked towards more shared experiences, including continuing to travel the world with him. One line captured the gratitude running through their ceremony: “God loved me so much, He gave me you.”
Those personal words give their vow renewal film its meaning. Alongside the views of Santorini, it preserves how they spoke to each other at this point in their marriage, what they valued and what they hoped to carry forward.
Exploring Oia with Their Two Children
After the ceremony, we headed out into Oia together. The atmosphere was easy and playful, with the children bringing their own energy to the shoot. We filmed family moments and portraits of Eddy and Faye, moving between different corners of the village.
Bright pink bougainvillea, winding steps and warm coloured walls added variety to the film. There was room for the couple to pause together and for the children to have fun. What I remember most is how comfortable everyone felt. The walk became part of their family experience in Santorini, and that enjoyment comes through in the images.
A Ceremony and Family Film in an Hour and a Half
The entire shoot took around an hour and a half, including the vow renewal and our walk through Oia. Keeping everything within the same village helped us use that time well.
This is where local filming experience makes a practical difference. Knowing how the streets connect, which viewpoints offer different backgrounds and where to move when a spot is busy helps keep a short session flowing. We can adapt the route instead of spending the shoot waiting at one crowded location.
Eddy and Faye’s session shows what can be possible with a compact plan and nearby locations. The right amount of time for another family will depend on the ceremony, the route and the pace that feels comfortable, especially when children are joining in.
Planning a Family Vow Renewal in Santorini
If you are imagining a vow renewal during a family trip to Santorini, Eddy and Faye’s celebration offers a lovely starting point: personal vows, a place where you feel comfortable and time together afterwards. A private villa can provide a setting for the ceremony, with a nearby walk adding a different atmosphere to the film.
Before the shoot, we can discuss your accommodation, the ceremony you have in mind and how you would like your children to be involved. From there, we can plan a route and filming schedule around your family.
