Molly & Alex | Garden Wedding at El Viento Santorini

Molly and Alex celebrated their wedding at El Viento in Santorini with a garden ceremony overlooking the caldera, led by Molly’s brother. Their personal vows brought together six years of shared adventures, MBA studies, board games and the everyday moments that made them feel at home with each other.

A Garden Above the Aegean

A garden ceremony beside a white windmill, with the Santorini caldera stretching beyond the flowers: Molly and Alex’s wedding at El Viento brought a lush, intimate setting to an open island landscape. Designed and planned by Lifetime Affair, their celebration gathered family and friends around a ceremony led by Molly’s younger brother, Andrew.

Their story began at a university barbecue at UW, with a conversation about working for Boeing. Six years later, they had completed their MBAs, bought a home and travelled together. Andrew brought that shared history into the ceremony, while their personal promises made room for spicy pasta, board games and the next adventure. Molly’s description of their relationship was simple: “Love feels like home.”

El Viento, Reimagined as a Wedding Garden

The setting gave this Santorini destination wedding a distinctive visual character. A white aisle passed through abundant greenery and pale flowers, with dark guest chairs arranged on green turf. The garden installation softened the terrace, while the windmill and volcanic stone walls kept the architecture of El Viento firmly within the scene.

Jim Labraco and Maria’s Flowers created the florals, aisle, podium and turf installation. Their work framed the ceremony without closing off the view, allowing the sea and the caldera to remain part of the celebration. From above, the arrangement revealed its full shape; at ground level, the flowers brought texture and depth to the space around the couple.

For a wedding video at El Viento, those different perspectives matter. Wide views establish the relationship between the terrace, the windmill and the water. Closer images show the scale of the floral arrangements, the details of the setting and the people gathered within it. Together, they describe both the design of the wedding and the experience of being there.

Room for the People and the Place

With Andrew leading the ceremony, the atmosphere was personal from the beginning. Family stories and familiar humour gave guests a connection to the words being spoken. Alongside the carefully arranged garden, there were spontaneous smiles, exchanges between the couple and reactions from the people who knew them best.

Our approach to filming a destination wedding in Santorini gives those moments space. The landscape establishes where the day takes place, while the people give each sequence its meaning. During a ceremony, we look for the interaction between both: the couple within the setting, the guests listening, and the small gestures that happen between the formal parts of the day.

Wedding Videography at El Viento Santorini

El Viento offers several visual elements within one wedding location: the white windmill, dark stone, planted areas and an open sea horizon. Filming here calls for attention to composition, so that the venue remains recognisable while each scene feels connected to the couple’s celebration. For Molly and Alex, the garden design added another layer, creating a natural frame for the ceremony.

Santorini’s bright light also shapes the way we work. Pale flowers, white surfaces and the darker tones of the stone and seating can sit within the same image. We pay attention to the direction of the light and the background behind each moment, aiming for a consistent, natural result across the wedding film.

As a Santorini wedding videographer, our role is to bring these elements into a coherent story. Establishing views, design details, ceremony footage and personal interactions each have a purpose. The edit connects them with a rhythm that allows viewers to appreciate the location and stay close to the people at the centre of the day.

A Cinematic Wedding Film with a Personal Point of View

At Santorini.video, we approach each wedding through its particular setting, pace and relationships. A garden wedding at El Viento has its own visual language, and Molly and Alex’s celebration gave us a combination of considered design and warm family interaction to work with.

Their cinematic wedding film brings the caldera views and garden details together with the atmosphere of the ceremony. It preserves the scale of a destination wedding in Greece while keeping the focus on the couple and the people who travelled to celebrate with them.
